Another tune from my college days popped up on the mix yesterday, and the lyrics hit that way like when a song immediately becomes the soundtrack for a particular scene in your biopic.

Guru’s mix of Jazz and hip-hop was often overshadowed by Tribe Called Quest. But we loved this album about as much as Midnight Marauders and the like. Guru continued that style through the Gangster Rap era, and I’m sure helped usher in the Neo-Soul Era.

As I build my art career, I feel there is no time to play, and I gotta make moves every day.
